The adventure begins in Kathmandu, a vibrant city filled with ancient temples, bustling streets, and Himalayan energy. Crossing into Tibet opens an entirely new world—vast, open, and surreal. As you land on the lap of mountains, our representative of Himalayan Eco Rides will be at the airport to pick you up and shuttle you to the hotel in Thamel to unwind. You can inquire more about riding adventures with your guide at the welcome dinner after exploring the vibrant streets of Thamel for a while.

As it takes at least 3 days to finalize a visa from the Chinese embassy, you spend your days visiting wonderful places in Kathmandu Valley. Explore the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu, rich in cultures and traditions. It’s home to several UNESCO-listed World Heritage Sites such as Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath, Soyambhunath ( Monkey Temple), Durbar Squares, etc., where you can learn about Nepal’s historical and cultural heritages. Besides these, stroll around the bustling markets of Kathmandu to buy souvenirs at an affordable rate.

Explore the historically significant district of Bhaktapur, known as Khwopa or Bhadgaon, which is at the east corner of Kathmandu. Visit famous spots such as Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Changu Narayan Temple, Nyatapola Temple, Taumadhi Square, Doleshwar Mahadev, and the 55 Windows Palace. Ask for a bike check from mechanics and a meeting with your teams since it’s your final day of preparation. The biking adventure begins tomorrow after getting a visa at the first official hour. After getting a Tibet visa, start your journey on a Royal Enfield Himalayan or Royal Enfield Classic 350 towards Syabrubeshi. A road ride of 40 kilometers from Kathmandu takes you to the Prithvi Highway and turns to the left from here by determining the journey to the Kerung border. Driving through the rugged and remote terrains of Langtang National Park to Rasuwagadhi via Nuwakot, Dhunche gives you a unique experience with surprises at every step of the winding trails until Syabrubeshi. Check into the hotel for the night.

After breakfast, head to the border between Nepal and Tibet after driving for 3 hours, which is 18 km away from Syabrubeshi. Continue the journey of Kerung to Everest Base Camp biking, 24 km from the border, after completing essential border formalities. Before heading to the higher point, you should acclimatize to adjust your body to the environment. Therefore, spend your day in the local town of Kerung after this short road ride and explore it. Therefore, reach Ronbuk on a bus, available there every 30 minutes. Today’s journey is worthwhile as you explore Ronbuk Monastery, the highest monastery on the planet, which is renowned for the spectacular vistas of Mt. Everest. Moreover, you reach the foothills of Mt. Everest today for the more wonderful scenes of the surrounding mountains, including the majestic peak of Mt. Everest. After spending valuable time here, return to Ronbuk and celebrate together as you make it to the Everest Base Camp.

TIMS (Trekking Information Management System) Card:

This is required for all trekkers or riders in Nepal, ensuring that your action is registered in the trekking and biking database. The purpose of the TIMS card is to help riders secure safety and security.

Sagarmath National Park

Mt. Everest (8848 m) is under a protected section of Sagarmatha National Park. Therefore, you need Sagarmatha National Park since you follow its routes during your journey. Its purpose is to conserve the fragile ecosystem of the region, including unique Himalayan flora and fauna. 

Tibet(China) Permits

  • Tibet Travel Permit:
    A Tibet travel permit is a mandatory permit for anyone who wants to travel to Tibet for exploration. It can only be obtained through registered travel agencies cooperating with Chinese tour operators. 
  • Chinese Visa
    A Chinese visa is needed for entry into Tibet, which should be applied before arriving in Nepal. Therefore, your documents are required since registered travel companies process them for you. 
  • Permit for Mount Everest North Base Camp (Tibet side):
    You need Mt. Everest North Base Camp since you reach Everest Base Camp via Kerung, Tibet.

Altitude Sickness

Therefore, practice riding on high-altitude terrain and involve yourself in cardiovascular exercises such as swimming, cycling, running, hiking, dancing, jumping, etc. to prepare your body for riding since you may require extra stamina.
